At Hand Brew Co, we are committed to operating responsibly, transparently, and in full compliance with UK law.
As an independent brewery and taproom, we maintain robust procedures to ensure that all beer production, storage, and sales activities meet the requirements of HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) and UK licensing authorities.
Excise & Tax Compliance
We are fully registered with HMRC as a brewer and:
Accurately record all production volumes and alcohol strengths
Maintain detailed brewing, packaging, and stock records
Submit Beer Duty and VAT returns on time
Retain records in line with statutory requirements
Operate secure stock control and reconciliation procedures
Responsible Retailing
Our taproom operates in accordance with the Licensing Act 2003. We:
Implement a Challenge 25 age verification policy
Train staff in responsible alcohol sales
Maintain incident and refusal logs
Promote safe and responsible consumption
Supply Chain Integrity
We conduct appropriate checks on our suppliers and wholesale customers to ensure that we trade only with legitimate, licensed businesses. We take a zero-tolerance approach to excise fraud, tax evasion, and unlawful trading.
Governance & Transparency
Our internal due diligence procedures are regularly reviewed and updated to reflect changes in legislation and best practice. Compliance oversight is managed by company directors to ensure accountability at every level of the business.
