Hand Brew Co Gluten Free Guide
To be legally labelled "gluten free", a product must contain 20 parts per million (ppm) or less of gluten, according to EU Regulation No. 828/2014 which applies in the UK and covers all foods in catering and pre-packaged products.
Coeliac societies like Coeliac UK also require products using their Crossed Grain Trademark to be tested in accredited labs and produced in audited facilities to ensure this standard is met and to prevent cross-contamination. We don’t use the Crossed Grain Trademark, but our beers are tested at accredited labs.

Product and Terminology
We use a product called Brewers Clarity in our beer to make it Gluten Free.
How Brewers Clarity Makes Beer ‘Gluten Free’
Brewers Clarity makes beer Gluten Free by using a specific enzyme to break down gluten proteins (gliadin and glutenin) into smaller, non-reactive peptides that do not trigger adverse reactions in people with coeliac disease.
This process lowers gluten levels to below the 20 parts per million (ppm) threshold for Gluten Free labeling. Our gluten free beers meet this requirement.
